Lawn Care Tips
#1
Fertilization
Some people may believe that they can avoid the basic such as fertilization. But, this is not the case. We recommend fertilization treatments that include pre-emergent, post-emergent and weed control. Just like us, the grass needs nutrients to stay healthy and green like every homeowner wants.
#2
Treat Weeds Before They Even Pop Up
Pre-emergent is a treatment that is applied to the lawn before you even see them beginning to spout. This helps prevent not only weeds, but also crab grass from reaching the soil.
#3
Mowing
Avoid cutting grass too short as it is damaging and harsh in hot conditions. Many think this is the best practice as it will prolong the next mow, but this is not the case. It is always a good idea to adjust the mowing frequency based on how fast the lawn is growing.
#4
Irrigation System
Watering the lawn helps maintain the color of the grass especially in dry conditions. We recommend watering once per week in the spring and two to three times per week in the summer. Now, lets talk about time. The time that you water also plays a key role in the growth of the grass. Watering in the cool mornings is recommended so that the water is not evaporating by the hot sun.
#5
Aeration & Over Seed Yearly
Aerating helps pull up plugs in order to loosen compacted soil in order to give roots room to grow.
